The Washington Nigerian Times' five-year fundraising campaign was launched in August 2008 to raise $1 million before the publisher's 50th birthday anniversary in 2012.

The announcement was made at a special event of the return of the Washington Nigerian Times Newspapers for donors and friends by the Publisher and Executive Director 'Lanrewaju Olugbenga.

These campaign gifts are designated for specific purposes, such as Newsroom construction or endowment to secure the WNT’s long-term stability by raising:

• $1 MILLION TO INCREASE THE ENDOWMENT, ensuring the long-term financial health of the organization and the continued extraordinary level and variety of WNT publications

• $1.5 MILLION TO SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BROADCAST/NEWSROOM FACILITIES,
